The Fight for Animal Rights
The world is becoming increasingly inhuman in its conduct. You will see many examples of how people hurt themselves, their spouses, children and everyone else around them. With time, people tend to get less affected by what they hear, till it sounds normal. The result is a people who are comfortable with a shocking amount of violence in our environment. We need to make a change to all this.
Even children now find this normal. They see no problem with all the violence around them. When a neighbor is suffering; nobody will bother to get concerned. When we see other children suffering in the news, we could not care less since ours are safe.
The instances when we turn a blind eye to the injustices committed against fellow men go to make even blunter the instincts that are supposed to guide us to making better decisions. There never misses an account of how people are being trafficked into slavery, yet we are not moved by this. This is why reports of animal cruelty do not get the reaction they deserve. This is why so many reports of this nature have no significant impact on the audience. Animals are being used as testing objects for so many experiments, most of them downright cruel to them. The meat industry is also a culprit in such acts.
People are also actively getting violent against animals in their neighborhoods. People who keep pets may find this absurd. This will however not change the fact that it is what is going on.
The suffering of these animals highlights the extent of the damage ignorance of the facts at hand has reached. It is almost normal to see the strong hurting the weak. This is how someone would go out of their way to hurt a pet that has not caused them any trouble. Pets are dependent on people for their survival. They are the least interested in hurting these people. They thus deserve better treatment from these people.
It is important for everyone to rise up and do something about this. There are many animals that demand some form of help. This will only happen when people admit that there is a problem. It should be a big deal when some of us are abducted and nothing is done about it. It is important that when we see advertisements of animals suffering, that we do not leave it at that. We need to join in the efforts of organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States. The Humane Society tries to do its part in creating awareness of what is the true picture of such cruelty. Help support the work of the HSUS, and together, we can stop this cruelty.
